EA temporarily pulls The Simpsons Tapped out from App Store due to server load issues

by Zaib Ali on March 6, 2012

It was not long ago when EA pulled Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store due to crashing and bugs. Now EA is back at it again, pulling recently released ’The Simpsons Tapped Out’ game from the App Store. The reason for pulling this one is entirely different from last time though. EA has pulled the game because it was putting to much load on its servers, making the gameplay for users slow and lagging. Those users who had already downloaded the game on their iDevices are able to play it normally right now, but those who were not lucky enough will have to wait until the game returns to the App Store.

EA has issued an official statement on the game’s Facebook fan page saying that the game will return as soon as issues are resolved and its servers are able to handle greater player capacity.

To make sure you current players have the best possible experience, we’ve temporarily removed The Simpsons: Tapped Out from the App Store. Yes, as a current player you can keep playing — and things should only get better as we make improvements to connectivity. Once we have a solution, we’ll return the game to the App Store so new players can join in the fun. Meanwhile, thank you for your patience and support.

EA’s The Simpsons Tappout was available in the App Store for free, we will let you know as soon as the game returns to the App Store. Stay tuned and follow us on Twitter @thinkios
