Second update for Sparrow app for iOS has become available in the App Store for download. This new update adds several new features and bug fixes to the app. Version 1.2 brings a landscape mode to Sparrow, that allows users to compose email in landscape mode. The new update also adds 9 localized languages including French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Dutch, and English. Another cool feature added in this update allows users to navigate between messages by swiping their finger up and down.
Sparrow has also released an update on push notification feature. Team Sparrow says that Apple has confirmed that it won’t allow Sparrow to use Push Notification feature on iOS devices. So to tackle this problem Sparrow will provide the push notification service by itself and will charge for it on yearly basis.
You were more than 16 000 helping us on our Apple quest to get the VoIP privilege. We can’t thank you enough for your support. Unfortunately, Apple has confirmed that they are not willing to do any exception to the rule and that Sparrow will NOT be granted with the privilege.
This means we’ll have to do Push on our side and that it will be integrated as a yearly subscription into Sparrow’s future update.
