Are these the new redesigned Apple earbuds for next generation iOS devices? [video]

by Zaib Ali on September 2, 2012

Looks like the USB/Charge cable isn’t the only accessory for iOS devices that is going to get a redesign this year. Vietnamese site Tinhte has posted photos and video of an alleged Apple earbud that they claim is for the next generation iOS devices including iPhone 5. The headphone that carries a completely new unibody design seems to have taken it’s design cues from both in-ear headphones and the stock headphones that come free with every iOS device. If these headphones are real, then it would be the first time since 2006 that Apple is going to give it’s iconic earbuds a new design.

According to Tinhte’s report, the headphones have “Designed in California. Assembled in Vietnam.” written on their cable. The earbud is a fully integrated single unit, unlike the older model whose buds are made up of different pieces connected together.

Although Tinhte has a reasonable track record when it comes to Apple related leaks, it cannot be said with certainty whether these headphones or earbuds are a real deal. We also don’t know for sure if this is a new model for the stock Apple earbuds that will come free with every iOS device, or will be available at a premium price like in-ear Apple earbuds after the event.

Here’s the video and more photos Tinhte has posted for these earbuds.

These just look stupid to me. Apple should have done better considering how shitty their headphones have always been.

They are good. It’s nice to see a fresh design unlike other buds available in the market.
