iPhone 5 will go on sale today in 22 more countries around the world. Apple launched the new iPhone in 9 countries initially and promised that it will arrive in 22 more on September 28, which is today. These countries include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. There have been numerous reports about shortages of iPhone 5 in these countries, and many local carriers have already informed their customers that they won’t be able to get their iPhone 5 today due to supply shortages.
Apple has already sold over 5 million iPhone 5 units in the countries it initially launched the new iPhone in, and those numbers are only going to get a major boost as world’s most popular smartphone hits 22 more countries.
Apart from 9 initial and 22 of the second stage countries Apple has already announced that it will release iPhone 5 in over 100 more countries by the end of 2012. So if you do not see your country in the list above then don’t worry and keep on hoping that your country is included in the list of 100 countries scheduled for later this year.
