Panorama mode in iOS 5’s Camera app found | ThinkiOS

iOS 5′s camera app has a panorama feature that allows users to take 360° panorama shots with their iPhones. This feature is not available and has been kept hidden in iOS 5, Apple also didn’t talked about it in its introductory keynote back in June. The hidden feature has been unearthed by developer @conradev. It seems as if this feature is not ready for prime time and Apple is taking its time before releasing it feature for public.

Just like any other third party panorama shooting app, you will be able to take 360° shots by moving your camera from left to right. Apple might release this feature for public in an iOS update in the coming months.

@conradev tweeted:

So, I found out how to enable Panorama is the iOS Camera app. Set the key ‘EnableFirebreak’ to YES in com.apple.mobileslideshow.plist

Apple added new features to camera.app in iOS 5 update including pinch-to-zoom gestures, single-tap focus, grid lines, swipe to access photo library, and exposure locks to edit files on the go. Let’s hope Panorama feature will join this list very soon.
