Google has released a new app in the App Store called Google Currents. The app has been released simultaneously on both iOS and Android platforms. Google Currents is a reader app that helps users in reading articles from their favorite publications on web in a beautiful magazine form. Google Currents is very similar to Flipboard and other alike apps already available in the App Store. Google has partnered with popular publishers such as Forbes, Good, Fast Company and more who will provide special editions for Google Currents app that will include in-depth articles, videos, fine photography, slideshows, live-maps, and social streams.
Google Currents is available for all iOS devices including iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
Google Currents uses Google search to hourly update the editions you have been reading and automatically adds top five most recent articles in all categories. If your favorite news site is not added in the app, don’t worry as you can add as many websites as you want by tapping the Add More button in Library.
Google Currents also supports offline reading. So whenever an article is downloaded, it remains in your phone and you can read it even when you are not connected to the internet.
Google Currents is a universal app that is available in the App Store for free here
