Apple unusually released a revised version of iOS 5.0.1 update for iPhone 4S. This is unusual because Apple has never re-released the same build of iOS before. The top hackers of the jailbreak community laid their hands on this new release by Apple and they found something really interesting – extremely interesting if you are Siri loving owner of a non-Siri Apple device. It appears that in this second release of iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S Apple has added decryped ramdisks, that means developers can now legally download the files they need for a Siri port for older devices.
The issue that was raised before was it was illegal to download files and use them for Siri ports because they were not publically available – but now that hurdle is gone and developers can legally download the files they need whenever they want.
It is unclear at the moment that why Apple released a revised version of iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S only and added decryped ramdisks so that Siri could be legally ported to older iOS devices. It seems as if someone in Cupertino wants everyone to have Siri on their devices, even if it is unofficial.
Now as unofficial Siri port has become legal, we would advice you to stay away from unofficial and questionable Siri ports that are available in Cydia including H1Siri, We will let you know as soon as we hear more about this Siri port from developers.
