iOS Hackers named Steven Troughton-Smith and TheMudKip have managed to port iPhone apps on Apple TV. They are working on a hack that is still in its early stages which will allow users to run iOS apps on their jailbroken Apple TVs. Developers had to rewrite the iOS Springboard to accomplish this task, they have also added a new feature called side-by-side apps. This feature will allow users to run several iPhone-screen sized apps simuntaneaously on their TV screen just like windows on a PC.
Apple TV is powered by the same A4 procesor that powers iPhone 4 so there won’t be any compatibilty issues and the device is powerful enough for the purpose. No details about the release of this hack have been revealed yet. We will update you as this story develops.
