Apple has officially announced on its website that 25 billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store on iOS devices all over the world. Launched back in 2008, App Store houses more than 500,000 apps and serves millions of iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users. App Store has achieved this milestone in a short span of time, it was only last year when Apple announced 10 billion downloads and now that number has reached 25 billion.
Apple says:
A billion thanks. 25 Times over. The App Store has reached 25 billion downloads. Thanks for getting us here.
The $10,000 iTunes card promotion has also ended, and Apple will announce the lucky winner soon. The person who downloaded the 25 billionth app will get a $10,000 iTunes card from Apple.
