Paper by FiftyThree is a free app that recently became available in the App Store. Created by ex-Microsoft employees, Paper allows users to draw sketches, diagrams, illustrations, or simple drawings. Paper features a minimalist and beautiful interface and has built in sharing options that allow users to share their creations on the web. Paper features all the essential tools (you have to buy most of them through in-app purchases, though). There are no settings to configure, which is always good.
The only downside of this app is that you have to buy tools including additional stencils in order to take full advantage of the app. It would have been better if the app was priced around $5 or less and featured essential tools instead of selling for free. One way of seeing this is you get to try the app before buying and i think not many users would mind that.
In-app purchases for Paper by FiftyThree app for iPad include:
Sketch: The pencil blends from light to dark for sketching scenes, objects, and thoughts in rough form. ($1.99)
Write: Write messages, add captions, or create lists with this quality ink pen. ($1.99)
Outline: Create Graph insights, create a storyboard, or outline a presentation with this marker. Black lines stay black. ($1.99)
Color: Give color to your ideas. Move from a light wash to deep, rich color in one stroke with this watercolor made easy. ($1.99)
If you want to buy all of the items above, you can purchase ‘essentials’ for $7.99 too.
Paper is an impressive app and a must download for those users who like to sketch and draw on their iPads and do not mind spending a few bucks on in-app purchases.
