How to make Chrome the default browser on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch [Guide]

Google Chrome for iOS devices was released yesterday in the App Store and from my experience it’s quite good, in fact it’s so good that i won’t mind making Chrome my default browser on iOS, replacing mobile Safari with it. But the problem is that iOS natively does not give users liberty to choose which browser they want to use as their default, so if you want to change it to Chrome you simply can’t. But that is what happens when you are looking for a native option and are not jailbroken. If your device is jailbroken then changing the default browser is really easy, just follow the steps after the break to make Chrome your default browser and make your device open every link in your new favorite browser.

1 ) First of all make sure your device is jailbroken and running Cydia.

2 ) Open Cydia and tap on the ‘Manage’ button from the bar below. Now tap on Sources and then on the ‘Edit’ button.

3 ) After you have tapped on the edit button, you will see a new ‘Add’ on the opposite side of the screen, tap on it.

4 ) Now enter the address of Ryan Petrich’s repo here, that is rpetri.ch/repo and hit ‘Add Source’ button.

5 ) Once the new repo has been added, go to the ‘Manage’ tab again and tap on Sources. From the list of sources tap on RPetri.ch Repository you just added.

6 ) From the repo install free BrowserChooser tweak. Let it be installed and respring your device.

7 ) Now go to settings.app of your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad and tap on ‘BrowserChooser’ setting.

8 ) From the menu choose Chrome as you default browser and you are good to go.
