Upcoming update for Twitter app leaks thanks to a glitch in iOS 6 App Store

The upcoming version of official Twitter app for iOS has leaked in the App Store prior to it’s launch. There seems to be a major glitch in the new App Store of iOS 6 that is some how displaying the details about an unreleased update on the App’s description page. The unannounced version 4.3 of Twitter for iOS is now expected to land for everyone in the coming days. The update brings a new icon for the app among other useful features displaying the new logo and can be considered a major one as it brings several changes to the app. The new update will make viewing tweets from the app a more interactive experience for users, and now users will be able to preview content including photos and videos from within the tweets. 

Twitter has also included auto complete improvements to the connect tab, that will be similar to the auto complete search for users the company rolled out for the desktop site. Here is a summerized version of the notes by 9to5Mac, leaked in iOS 6′s App Store.

  • More interactive Tweet view experience: content previews, videos, images and more will now be shown within tweets containing links to “partner websites.”
  • Tweets about “selected events” will now be highlighted. Twitter will curate the relevant tweets and images
  • In the Connect tab, autocomplete improvements will be now be present. Twitter rolled out something similar to their official website last week.
  • Major push notifications enhancement: You will now be able to choose to receive push notifications when certain people tweet
  • Like in Tweetbot, you will now be able to receive unobtrusive Twitter notifications while you are using the app.
  • The Discover tab will now be able to alert users when new content is ready for perusal
  • Personalized Trends
  • You will now be able to tap a user’s avatar to be taken to their profile page
  • Improved performance
  • You will now be able to manually input your password when having authentication issues
  • Hungarian localization
  • Finally: the new Twitter logo will be featured on the icon (our image below is from iOS 6 Twitter integration)
  • Also promised is a slew of other tweaks, more polish, and bug fixes
