iPhone 5: The competition

We are just one week away from Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 5 event. iPhone 5 that is expected to feature a new design and monstrous specs will have plenty of competitors waiting to stop it from becoming the number one smartphone in the market. Here in this post we will take a look at top five smartphones currently available in the market, that iPhone 5 will have to compete with in order to become the leading smartphone of the world. Unsurprisingly the phones I am going to add in the top 5 list are from Samsung, Nokia, and HTC. These smartphones are powered by main iOS rivals Android and Windows Phone platforms. Not only these but iPhone 5 will also have to compete with many devices that will be announced in the coming weeks. Today Nokia has already announced it’s Windows Phone 8 devices. Samsung and HTC have also announced their events for this month, hoping to release their devices to compete with the mighty iPhone 5. Read on to see the top 5 most worthy iPhone 5 competitors.

Samsung’s Galaxy S III is currently the leading Android phone in the market. There are reports that it outsold iPhone 4S last month, which is the first time any phone has done so (even though iPhone 4S is about to be replaced by iPhone 5 and that’s why it had lower sales last month, we will still give due credit to Galaxy S III). It packs a huge 4.80-inch screen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Galaxy S III is powered by a Quad-Core Cortex A9 processor with 1GB RAM and runs Android 4.0.4 firmware. Other features of HTC One X include Scratch-resistant glass, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI port with microUSB, and more.

HTC Desire X runs Android 4.0 and is powered by a Dual-Core Cortex A8  processor and 768MB RAM.
