We recently told you about a rumor that said Apple will send the invitations for an event on October 10 and will announce the new iPad mini tablet on October 17. Now WSJ reports that Apple has already started the production of the rumored smaller tablet. WSJ cites the sources from within Apple’s supply chain that say the new tablet is smaller than the current iPad and sports a 7.85-inch display. WSJ’s source also notes that the resolution of this device’s screen is lower than the resolution of iPad 3′s 2048×1536 pixel display.
Other than the news about production of iPad mini, WSJ’s report does not reveal anything new about the mysterious rumored device. In Other news a site called UkrainianiPhone has a posted a few photos that show the purported digitizer, frame and black aluminum housing for the iPad mini.
