Apple has recently removed the click-wheel iPod games from the iTunes store. These games that were available for download from a dedicated section in iTunes store called ‘iPod click wheel games’ are now gone from the store forever. There have been reports of Apple finally killing iPod Classic at this year’s media event that is expected to take place later this year and this is an indication of what is going to happen in a few days.
With the discontinuation of iPod Classic, Apple will also be killing the classic form factor of click wheel iPods that has ruled the world of music listeners for over a decade.
iPod Classic’s death was well expected since Apple removed click wheel from its widely popular iPod Nano in 2010 and its a strange thing for many reasons that it took Apple so long in killing this version of its iPod.
