Afternoon betas: Apple releases iOS 15.5 RC, iPadOS 15.5 RC and watchOS 8.6 RC

Today is beta day in Cupertino. And as usual in the company, they have just been released all at once, for all Apple devices. So the developers can already download the versions Release Candidate from iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, tvOS 15.5, watchOS 8.6, and macOS 12.4.

They are already the RC versions. That means it’s already latest pre-launch betas of the final version for all users. If there is nothing to tweak, they are the same as the versions that we can download in a few days.

Those from Cupertino have just released the fifth betas of all their operating systems less than an hour ago. They are the Release Candidate builds of iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, tvOS 15.5, watchOS 8.6, and macOS Monterey 12.4 available for developers to install and test.

Today’s releases follow the fourth developer beta, which launched on May 3. The third arrived on April 26. The second ones did it on April 19, and the first betas of iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, tvOS 15.5, watchOS 8.6 and macOS 12.4 were released on the 5th of last month.

The iOS 15.5 betas so far included references to an app «Apple Classicalalong with a new Home app feature that shows Wi-Fi signal indicators for the HomePod, and the discovery of “Request” and “Send” buttons for Apple Pay Cash in the Wallet app.

The new build number for iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 is 19F77, replacing 19F5070b. The tvOS 15.5 build number is 19L6570, which replaces the previous build of 19L5569a, and the watchOS 8.6 build number is 19T572 versus the previous 19T5570a.

Everything ready, then, for all this software to be officially released for all users in general, taking advantage of the WWDC 2022 early next month.
