The end of iOS 17 is approaching: all the news in iOS 17.5 beta 1

This first iOS 17.5 developer beta has build code 21F5048f, something that had already been leaked a few days ago. This version can be installed on all devices with an Apple ID logged in and registered with the Apple Developer Program. In the future this version will reach the public beta and all users enrolled in the Beta Program will be able to try it on their device. Until then, Let's take a look at the main new features that will appear in iOS 17.5:

  1. Installing apps directly from a website: This novelty was already announced by Apple a few weeks ago and we already talked about it in iPhone News. Therefore, with iOS 17.5 we will be able to install apps from the App Store, from other alternative stores accepted by Apple and also from developer websites under the function called Web distribution. Of course, developers will have to accept Apple's rules which are a payment of 50 cents for each annual installation over one million in the last 12 months. This function will only reach the European Union.
  2. Apple Podcasts Widget: The home screen widget for the Apple Podcasts app now has a dynamic color that changes depending on the cover of the podcast we are listening to. Before it was only a color that remained over time.
  3. Disabling unwanted tracking: According to the 9to5mac team, the iOS 17.5 code introduces in its first beta for developers a system to disable tracking devices (AirTags, etc.). The operating system will detect devices even when they are not certified on the Find My network and alert the user to disable them. Still, this feature has not been announced by Apple, so we understand it will be in development.
