Apple Watch and Apple TV are now available for purchase, and they work well together.
Apple Watch has just gotten a little smarter. Users can now upgrade to watchOS 8.5 to gain some new capabilities on their wrist, such as the ability to authenticate Apple TV purchases through the Watch, enhancements to abnormal heart rhythm detection, and a new Apple Fitness Plus accessibility tool, among other things.
Apple Watch Will Now Help You Buy Movies And Shows
The latest version of watchOS 8 comes with iOS 15.4, which allows users to unlock their iPhones using Face ID while wearing face masks for the first time. That’s not the same as the ability to unlock an iPhone using the Watch, which was included in iOS 14.5 a year ago.
If you’ve recently needed to purchase your Apple TV or Apple TV 4K, you’re undoubtedly used to doing it using your iPhone. When renting a movie or buying an app, you used to have to manually write out or use Siri to input your password. However, Apple recently issued an update to tvOS and iOS that enabled you to authorize a purchase using your iPhone, eliminating the need to do so directly on the Apple TV.
It was a fantastic function, but the one drawback was that you had to reach for your iPhone to utilize it.
It seems that Apple thought this could be even easier because it has brought the same capability to the Apple Watch. As spotted by 9to5Mac, with watchOS 8.5 and tvOS 15.4, users can now authorize purchases on the Apple TV with their Apple Watch. This latest update is just another reason to pick up the new Apple Watch Series 7 with its larger and more durable display as well as its faster charging.
