iPhones are renewed annually in September for many years. Since September we have been seeing and reading reports about the next iPhone 15 which will be released at the end of this year. Much of those reports do not portend a leafy redesign of the device but rather an efficiency optimization in line with a price drop on standard models. Other information arrived a few hours ago confirms that Apple’s intention with the upcoming A17 chip of the iPhone 15 will be to focus on making the iPhone 15 a more efficient device and optimize all its functions rather than promoting an exaggerated power.
The A17 chip of the iPhone 15 will be more efficient than the A16 chip
Apple has already ordered TSMC the first advanced 3 nanometer chips which apparently are expected to be the chip A17. These new chips with 3nm technology will allow the same number of transistors to be included in a smaller chip, which would imply a significant increase in the number of operations per second and, therefore, an increase in data processing power.

The little that has been able to transcend has been that demand for 3nm chips all over the world is being very high since the benefits they offer are much greater than those of 5nm, it is clear. As TSMC has commented to Bloomberg, these new 3nm chips They offer better performance than 5nm with 35% less power. This means that we would maintain and save battery on the iPhone 15 making a similar use as the current A16 chip.
However, all that glitters is not gold as Apple could spend that extra battery that is saved with the A17 chip in introducing new sensors or new simultaneous tasks that allow “killing” what has been gained with 3nm technology. Therefore, we will be before an A17 chip focused on increasing its efficiency and not so much on the search for maximum power. With this, Apple would have a lot of leeway to be able to design a device related to its interests and objectives.
