The latest iPads introduced by Apple feature the M2 chip, the second generation of Apple’s own ARM chip. The integration of this technology together with the hardware achieves an increase in the power and efficiency of the iPad never seen before. However, the power also comes from the developers who exploit all the benefits. It is the case of DaVinci Resolve, the well-known desktop video editor, whose version for iPadOS is now available on the App Store. One more step to turn the new iPad Pro into a real computer. We’ll tell you all the news about this app after the jump.
DaVinci Resolve comes to iPadOS to revolutionize video editing
DaVinci Resolve is a video editing software created by the Blackmagic Design company available for all desktop operating systems such as Windows or macOS. Millions of users from all over the world use this video editor for their projects and today they have good news if they have an iPad in their possession.

And it is that Blackmagic Design already announced a few months ago that DaVinci Resolve was going to reach iPadOS. And it has. DaVinci Resolve is now available on the App Store only for iPads running iPadOS 16. The application has been almost completely ported from its desktop version to iPadOS, as we can see in the images in the App Store and if you download the app on your iPad.
The company recommends DaVinci Resolve on the iPad Pro M1 or newer models. However, the app is officially compatible with any iPad with iPadOS 16.0 onwards as long as they have a A12 Bionic chip or better. But if we use any of these devices, some option or function will not be available. Secondly, projects can still be imported and exported under their own .drp extension, which means that we can start an edition on our iPad and finish it on our Mac, for example.
As expected, they work with file formats H.264, H.265, Apple ProRes and Blackmagic RAW. Finally, the application is free but to unlock all the included functions it is necessary to pay a subscription of 114.99 euros.
