Surely many of you have already installed iOS 17, a new generation of iPhone software that substantially improves the previous generation. In this article, we are going to highlight some settings that you have to configure on your iPhone and that you will be eternally grateful for. Keep reading as we tell you everything.
iOS 17 Settings
Apple has been developing the accessibility section in recent years, offering solutions for all users. Therefore, if we go to settings, accessibility, in the haptic response section we have three touch options: short, default and long. I recommend the default or short option because this way you will optimize the options much better than you have to make a sustained click.
If we leave settings and passwords, we have the option to activate the auto-delete of verification codes, that is, when we receive a code and it fills the workspace, it is deleted from our device. The truth is that they are one of the novelties that you say: it is useless but it gives me a lot of value.
Continuing in settings, if we go to Sounds and vibrations, we can choose different ringtones that are new in this new generation of iOS 17. Also, within the vibrations section, we have new features. Remember that vibration consumes resources from your battery, so it may be more interesting not to play or not to vibrate in silent mode. You can choose the option not to vibrate in Silent mode.
Settings in Safari
In Safari, we also have a very interesting option which is to create professional, personal and leisure profiles. In this way, we will be able to differentiate the different tabs that we want to open in the profile. Within Safari, it is also advisable to install Face ID in private browsing. This novelty is the same as deleting the authentication email, it may seem like a minor novelty, but it provides great added value.
Continuing to talk about private browsing, we can determine a different browser when you are going to perform private browsing. Most of us use Google, although as you know it is not the safest in the world. Apple offers us other browsers such as Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Ecosia.
Safari also has advanced settings and is focused on our security. Specifically, this novelty seeks to improve user privacy, seeking advanced anti-tracking and fingerprint screening. By default, this only comes in private browsing, but it is advisable to put it in all types of browsing, to protect our data and privacy.
Message arrival notification
In messages we have a new option which is the call notification, an option that is very useful especially for young people who are starting to go out at night and parents always have a concern when it comes to getting home.
To activate the option you have to perform the following steps:
- Open the Messages app.
- Tap the plus “+” button that appears to the left of the text box.
- Select the Location option.
Now a map always appears with your location and two options: request and share. If you select the first option, you will ask the other person to share their location with you. On the other hand, if you select share, a menu will be displayed with three options: indefinitely, until the end of the day, for one hour. Finally, click submit.
