Now that the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro are already on the table, in this post who can take the opportunity to reflect a little on the iPhone that I would buy right now, without thinking twice. And in this post I will take the opportunity to talk to you from a 100% user perspective, and I will take into account all the uses that I give to my current iPhone XR. I will take stock of what I am interested in maintaining, but also of what is new that I want to have for the first time. What’s more, you, who are reading this, may be thinking about getting the same phone as me, and perhaps this post will help you clear up some doubts.
On a personal level, I don’t see the impetuous need to have to change my iPhone every year or two. Once I have found my comfort zone (technologically speaking) I want it to be that same technology that, with the passage of time, improves and learns to do more things, the one that is at the command of what I ask of it, in terms of executing tasks. it means. Furthermore, I sincerely believe that the true beauty of an iPhone is in keeping it for as long as possible.
In my case, I’ve been able to take a very deep perspective on how my phone has changed over the years. And it has also allowed me to know in depth what it gives me, and what I would like to have. And I’ll already give you the spoiler that it will not be any phone that Apple has presented in this new generation for the model that I am going to bet on.
For these reasons, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is my ideal phone
At this time, and after having weighed the different options that we currently have on the market, I think that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the device that best suits me. Both on a personal level and because of my way of working. My iPhone
Screen, battery and processor
So, to begin with, the iPhone 14 Pro Max meets the condition of having a large screen. But now, perhaps the 6.1 inches have even become too small for me at times. And in terms of increased autonomy, the 14 Pro Max is undisputed. So having a very large screen and more battery are my first two arguments in favor.
As for the processor, it is true that I am not going to have the new A17 Pro. But I come from an iPhone XR. And if we look at it from another perspective, the A16 Bionic chip is a processor that is still valid in this generation, thanks to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. So, even though I don’t have the “latest of the latest”, I ensure a processor that is still up to par, and that will be compatible with upcoming versions of iOS.
USB type C and accessories
If we talk about the physical connector, it is true that now we can have USB type C with USB3 standard. But we must also keep in mind that I have been using iPhone for many years, and my peripherals are Lightning. And, honestly, I don’t want to have to buy the same adapters and accessories again, just because of the connector change. What’s more, I even skip buying the USB-C to Lightning adapter. Being able to take advantage of what I have, without spending more, is also a form of savings for me.
Among my Lightning accessories I have an SD card reader, the Lightning to 30-pin adapter, and even a Lightning to Ethernet adapter. Not to mention the Jack to Lightning adapters. So, for that part, since I already paid for them at the time, I don’t want to have to do it again, even though they are now cheaper than before.
Beyond hardware
Not everything happens through the device itself. Also, because of what surrounds it. The fact that it is a phone that has been with us for a year now gives me confidence that there are already many things that will not catch me by surprise. It is a mobile phone that has been more than tested, so that extra confidence gives me great security.
The good thing about it being an iPhone that is no longer sold in the Apple Store is that we can find it at lower prices at authorized dealers, whether new or refurbished. In fact, on other occasions I have been able to try two refurbished iPhones first-hand, and the truth is that the experience is very good. So if I came across a really good deal, the iPhone 14 Pro Max 128GB would be my next phone.
