iOS 16.5 Beta 2 Rolls Out: Now Available For Testing

In order to allow non-developers to check out the iOS 16.5 Beta 2 software ahead of its official debut, Apple seeded it to public beta testers today. Two weeks after the first public betas and one day after the second developer betas, there will be a second public beta release. The iOS 16 Public Beta may be activated by opening the Settings app, heading to General, selecting Software Update, tapping on Beta Updates, and choosing the option. This is only available to those who have registered their accounts for Apple’s free beta testing program.

iOS 16.5 Beta 2 Is Available

You may apply the update when it becomes available over the air in the next hour by navigating to the Settings app, selecting General, and then selecting Software Update. The iOS 16.5 Beta 2 update for today has to build 20F5039e. As the focus begins to turn to iOS 17, which will be unveiled at WWDC in just two months. iOS 16.5 Beta 2 doesn’t contain many noteworthy updates.

With the addition of new screen recording commands in iOS 16.5’s Siri, it is now possible to start or stop a screen recording. The update also includes the addition of a specific Sports tab to the Apple News app, something sports fans have long wanted.

Code discovered in iOS 16.5 further implies Apple has been developing a new quad-box picture-in-picture functionality for the TV app, primarily for simultaneously streaming numerous sporting events. For live sports, Apple now provides services like MLS Season Pass and Friday Night Baseball. Sports viewing through quad-box picture-in-picture would be comparable to that provided by other streaming TV providers.

iOS 16.5 is most likely to be made available to everyone by Apple in May. Later this week, a fresh public beta will be made available as the business conducts beta testing in preparation for the upcoming general release.
