We are at two months after Apple celebrates WWDC 2023a developer conference in which we will see the news at the software level of the guys on the block for the next seasons. iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 will mark a before and after and they will be the starting signal for the next devices that we will see in the last quarter. But after the release of the new versions, it is time to see which devices are left out of this new version, the first step for Apple to banish its devices. And we have bad news for one of the most relevant devices of recent times, the iPhone X. Apple could remove the compatibility of the iPhone X with iOS 17. Keep reading that we give you all the details…
According to the latest rumors iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 will no longer support iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro 1st-generation, and 5th-generation iPad. The source comes from a test history used for iOS 17u so it can be trusted, and then they would be left out of updates devices released between November 2015 and November 2017, that is, devices that are almost 8 years old. This would leave out most devices powered by the A11 Bionic processor or earlier, with the exception of the sixth and seventh generation iPad models with the A10 Fusion processor.
There are a few months left to check if these rumors are true, it does not hurt that devices that marked a before and after, such as the iPhone X, are left out, but in the end it is Apple the one that has to mark its limits so that the other devices continue to grow. Is this an abandonment? not at all, we have already seen on other occasions how Apple has continued to release security updates for devices that were no longer receiving updates.
