iPhone Ultra Series Could Be Even More Expensive

Apple analyst Mark Gurman claims that Apple is considering releasing an even more costly iPhone Ultra above the iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max variants. The high-end gadget may debut in 2024 with the iPhone 16 series.

According to Gurman’s newest idea, Apple intends to develop a more powerful, and more costly tier of iPhones. In September of last year, Gurman speculated that an iPhone Ultra model may replace the Pro Max label with this year’s iPhone 15. Given that the starting price of an iPhone 14 Pro Max is $1,099, this gadget may cost significantly more.

iPhone Ultra Series Could Be Priced Even Higher

Apple CEO Tim Cook left the door open to potential iPhone price increases during the company’s earnings call last week. Instead, he implied that people would be willing to shell out more money for a superior offering. It’s remarkable how much the iPhone has permeated people’s daily routines, Cook added. People are “probably willing to push to acquire the finest they can afford in that area,” as that expert puts it.

Gurman suggests that an iPhone Ultra “will bring more camera upgrades, a quicker CPU, and potentially an even larger display,” while he admits that it’s still not obvious what features would be included. The design may omit the wired charging connector in favor of wireless power.

Gurman pointed out that by prioritizing improvements for the Pro and Pro Max versions, Apple is “offering consumers a reason to spend extra.” After restricting Apple’s Dynamic Island feature to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max last year, Gurman claims the company has even more ambitious plans for this year’s iPhone 15 launch.

There are rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will have USB-C and maybe implement haptic feedback instead of traditional volume and power buttons. Further expanding the gap between models is the possibility that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the sole handset to have a periscope lens with superior optical zoom.
