Pride 2023 Edition: new faces and straps for the Apple Watch

Apple has always been committed to the visibility of the LGTBQ+ communities and other groups. In fact, take the opportunity to raise money on the dates indicated to invest in NGOs or associations that protect and promote actions to keep these communities alive. This time we talk about LGTB+ Pride month that is celebrated in the month of June.

As every year, Apple has introduced the new Sport Band for the Apple Watch Pride Edition, as well as a special sphere for the Apple Watch and a wallpaper matching for iOS. As explained in a press release, the sports strap contains the colors of the rainbow and five other colors: black and brown (African American and Latino communities, as well as HIV/AIDS advocacy), light blue, pink and white (representing transgender and non-binary people). This strap will be available from May 24 in stores and from May 23 in the Apple Store app from 49 euro, and will be compatible from Apple Watch Series 3 onwards.

It has also been presented Apple Watch face and iOS Pride Edition wallpaper. The central concept of these designs are shapes of different colors that move across the screen that respond when we move our wrist or touch the screen. Both the face and the wallpaper will require iOS 16.5 and watchOS 9.5, so the arrival of these versions is confirmed most likely next week.
