The arrival of iOS 16 has meant an increase in app updates. Not only to update your codes to the novelties of the new operating system but to integrate widgets on the lock screen. These widgets can be configured from the lock screen configurator by simply adding the elements from the corresponding menu. In the case of Youtube music, it was updated a few hours ago, with a new widget called “Recently Listened” in two sizes to easily access the latest listening to our account from the lock screen.
The new Youtube Music widget for iOS 16
Youtube Music is Youtube’s streaming service. This service has a free version with ads and a paid version that allows you to not have ads and other better ones such as possibility to play Youtube in the background and an audio-only mode. A year ago, the service had more than 50 million assets and it is likely that this number has increased by fighting with other services such as Amazon Music or Spotify.

The Youtube Music app for iOS and iPadOS has been updated bringing a new widget for the iOS 16 lock screen. It is a widget in 2×1 and 1×1 mode that shows us the track of the music, album or artist that we have recently listened to and the service logo. In this way, we can access the playback with just one touch from the lock screen after unlocking the terminal.
To insert the widget on your lock screen, it is logical to comment that you must have the app installed on your device as well as iOS 16 in any of its available versions. Once inside, we will access the lock screen and with it the screen editor. And just by clicking on the ‘+’ in the widget section, we will access the YouTube Music widget in its two formats: 2×1 and 1×1.
