Apple’s conditions and benefits
An Apple Authorized Service Center is an officially endorsed repair and service center. This means that training for technicians is provided by Apple, in the same way that all parts and repair tools are official and provided by the brand. In this way, when we repair our device in a center of this type, we make sure that the parts and procedures are the same as those used by Apple.
Now, what does Apple ask for a repair shop to be authorized? First of all, it is that the center is in a territory where Apple operates directly. This does not mean that they have to have an Apple Store, but rather that Apple devices do not enter a region through third-party companies, for reasons of market restriction.
Facing the workshop, the company asks for audited financial reports, and that the workshop has experience in carrying out repairs in other areas or on other equipment. In addition, they ask that the workshop emphasize, once it is in the program, on the entire Apple ecosystem. From repairs to promoting AppleCare services.
Besides, Apple performs periodic checks at its authorized centers of service and repair. Therefore, they require facilities that have a service point with direct entrance, dedicated personnel accessible to the public, as well as a correct state of cleanliness and hygiene within the premises. But if Apple provides you with knowledge and material, you must keep it in secret. One thing is that you promote that your center repairs and uses official Apple parts, and the other is that you explain, explicitly, in detail and publicly, all the tools that Apple has provided to your location, or expose the training videos with public-facing instructions from Apple. This is material that should be kept confidential.
They also request that technicians must register in the program for certifications, and that these must pass exams and tests that Apple asks for each product individually. You have to pay an exam fee, but if we are already an authorized center and we have to renew the certificate, Apple explains that it will not charge you those fees. And for the record, you are asked to send an email to [email protected] with the following information:
- Shop Legal Business Name
- Name of the directing person / owner of the workshop
- Full address (no home addresses or PO boxes allowed)
- Phone number
- Email with company domain
- Trade website
- Previous experience with Apple, if we have it
- Business purpose, including target segment or type of customer
With all this data, once sent, Apple can accept (or not) the request. Also, if our workshop or website has Apple’s trademark name on it, it will not be accepted as it will violate Apple’s Trademark Terms.
