According to insiders, Apple’s senior VP of retail and people, Deirdre O’Brien, will accompany Tim Cook on his trip to India this month.

Cook got the chance to interact with Bollywood stars and key executives, watch a cricket match, and examine Apple’s operations in India on his final trip to the nation in 2016.

Earlier on Wednesday, Apple revealed the facade of the Mumbai shop, which is inspired by the city’s unique kaali-peeli cab art and will open later in the month at the Jio World Drive Mall. This month’s visit by the CEO is likely to involve discussions with lawmakers and business leaders in order to enhance Apple’s position in the area.

Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior VP of commerce and people, is also likely to accompany Cook on his trip to India this month. As Apple seeks to minimize its reliance on China, they are likely to examine options to increase production in the area.

Cook has been a vocal supporter of Apple’s expansion into India, which is viewed as a critical growth area for the business. Apple has been growing its activities in the nation in recent years, releasing new goods and services customized to the local market.
