iPads are devices that we usually have associated in more professional and office environments. They are not, by default, resistant to water or splashes, as they are the iPhone. But did you know that your iPad can be submerged in water? This is thanks to some accessories that we are going to show you below. So in this post we explain what they are about.
There are waterproof cases for the iPad
If you want to grant the submersible capacity on the iPad, you will have to resort to submersible and waterproof cases. This type of case is focused to be able to expand the uses that we give to our iPad: if we want to take it to the beach, in a swimming pool, or perhaps use it as a GPS in a boat. But, as we all know, water and salt water are the great enemies of electronics. The submersible cases for the iPad are designed so that our devices do not become liquid damagedor, but also, to be submersible. Of course, not for a long time or too deep, if we compare it with other devices designed to be submersible from the beginning.
These covers have IP68 certification, which means that they have maximum insulation and protection against water. Within the IP standard, IP68 was, until recently, the highest level of protection. However, there is now the IP69x certification, which indicates that the device supports more extreme conditions, such as water jets or high pressure. Next, we are going to show you the list with the best waterproof IP68 cases for your iPad. Unfortunately, not all manufacturers make cases for all models of the iPad. However, here we have made the list with those models that, for now, have these covers.
IP68 case for iPad Pro 12.9
If you have a 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 5th or 6th generation, released in 2021 and 2022 respectively, there is a case that makes it waterproof. The operation is very simple: you place the iPad between the two layers of the case and close it. Also make sure that all the connectors are covered and the iPad will be ready. Unfortunately the case is not compatible with older iPad Pro models.
Waterproof case for iPad Pro 11, iPad Air and iPad mini 6
The 11-inch iPad Pro, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation have their waterproof cases. It is resistant to blows, falls and of course to water. To protect your iPad, the same as before: insert the iPad between the two layers of the case and close it correctly. For the iPad Air, in this case, we have cases for the 4th and 5th generation iPad Air. They work with the same system, but add compatibility to place an Apple Pencil (but this is not waterproof). It is curious to see how they have repeated the same formula of the Pencil, but with the sixth generation iPad mini.
IP68 cases for older iPads
The iPad 10.2 (2020 and 2019), iPad Pro 9.7, iPad Air 2, and iPad 9.7 (Air, 2017, 2018) also have their own IP68 cases. And while the older line of iPads have very similar designs to one another, small centimeter differences mean that the cases are not compatible between all models. This is seen, above all, in the 9.7 iPad. Even so, here we leave you the lists with the name of the cover and the compatible models.
